Flashout 3 VR-powered anti-gravity racer is now available on PC and Steam Deck

Flashout 3 from Jujubee is available for purchase now, bringing VR-enabled anti-gravity thrills to PC, Mac OS, Linux, and Steam Deck.

As was hinted earlier this year, an anti-gravity racer Flashout 3 was released for PC, macOS, Linux, and Steam Deck today (September 23, 2022).

Featuring VR headset support via OpenXR, Flashout 3 is heavily inspired by the wipE′out series of games, where racing and combat combine to create futuristic on-track skirmishes.

Developer Jujubee implemented a 10-league campaign mode, split screen for two players and a stunning soundtrack in the third iteration of the Flashout series. The Polish developer has also made a free trial of the game, which can be downloaded and played on Steam.

The anti-gravity racing genre has seen several additions lately, including Redout 2, Pacer, and Gravity Chase, but Flashout 3’s notable selling point is its compatibility with VR and motion simulation. The prospect of experiencing the chaos of futuristic high-speed combat racing is a tempting idea, but it remains to be seen how well it works in practice.
